I have 10 years' experience working with children and young people as a Workshop Facilitator and Teacher. I believe that by creating spaces where young people can truly lead the way and are given the tools to innovate, radical things can happen. This action is paramount to the future.
Recently, I was a Visiting Lecturer at The University of Winchester leading teaching with their second year Acting students on a module called 'Contemporary Devised Practice'. I taught the students every week, sharing various contemporary approaches to making theatre. I directed their exam performances 'WASTE' and 'Burning Bridges'. I am also a regular Visiting Lecturer at The Royal Central School of Speech & Drama, working with their Advanced Theatre Practice students.
I have delivered various Puppetry & Ensemble Building workshops with Peer Productions working with their young actors. worked with The Watermill Theatre in Newbury delivering their Play-On confidence building programme in primary schools and Interlude a weekly drama session for young people and young carers.
I worked with Chain Reaction to design and deliver their new programme Girls Support Girls; this workshop based project takes place in schools across East London and Essex, for young women aged 13-16. I also regularly co-ran a youth theatre in Tower Hamlets and a social action project in Barking.
I trained as a Puppeteer, Performer and Facilitator with The Hands-On Company delivering educational workshops in primary and secondary schools. During my time there, we delivered various intergenerational projects, such as partnering with West Berkshire Council to create workshops for people living with Dementia and devising Christmas Puppet Shows for local communities across Berkshire.
I also teach Drama and Acting classes (including 1-2-1 tuition for LAMDA exams) at a performing arts school to ages 4-18. I have previously directed full-scale productions with casts of 60+ students. During Covid-19, I planned and delivered 50 weeks of online workshops exploring drama, acting, social action and skills building.
In 2016, I co-facilitated a site-specific open air show performed by 120 children and professional actors at the University of Cambridge.
